Ice fairy tale characters exhibited in central Chisinau

An exhibition of sculptures of fairy tale characters made from ice, including dwarfs, squirrels and Santa Claus, was opened in the Square of the God's Birth Cathedral on January 14. The exhibit was staged by the Internet company StarNet, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This is a gift that we decided to give to the Chisinau residents at the end of the winter holidays. Such exhibitions are organized only in the countries with cold climates,” said the company's administrative director Vladimir Machedon. The sculptures were made in the workshops of the Union of Plastic Artists and kept in the fridges of ice-cream factories. “It is for the first time that I participate in such exhibitions. It is very hard to work the ice, but I liked making fairy tale characters,” said sculptor Maxim Vasilev. The exhibit contains 20 figures made by professional Moldovan sculptors during three weeks.
