“If Chisinau authorities do not take measures by end-January, we will take to the streets to welcome Traian Basescu,” Anatol Bazgu

Members of the Movement of Transnistrian Refugees will take to the streets to welcome Traian Basescu and to tell everyone that their rights are violated if the Chisinau administration does not examine the decision to distribute apartments to 17 internally displaced people by the end of this month, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the public association's leader Anatol Bazgu. In a news conference on January 18, Bazgu said on November 22, 2009, the Chisinau Municipal Council decided to approve the applications for receiving apartments filed by 63 internally displaced persons. The given persons were already distributed apartments in the building located on Milescu Spstaru St. Anatol Bazgu said the local authorities did not explain why the other 17 applications were rejected. “The Chisinau authorities infringe the right to a fair remedy and the right to property. We will stage protests on the day when the President of Romania will arrive in Moldova and will tell everyone about the violations of our rights,” Anatol Bazgu said. “We have a slogan inside the association – One for All and All for One, We will Win. The 63 internally displaced persons guard the building. We support each other and will not move until the fate of the other 17 refugees is decided.” Anatol Bazgu also said that he submitted applications to Prime Minister Vlad Filat and asked for a meeting, but received no answer. “Even the Communist Government gave answers to our requests at the expected time,” he said.
