Igor Corman denies reports that foreign military planes entered Moldovan airspace

Speaker Igor Corman said the statements about foreign military planes crossing the Moldovan airspace are false. “I heard many speculations in this respect. The information I received from the competent authorities does not confirm them. I think this is disinformation,” he stated, quoted by IPN.

In the March 20 sitting of Parliament, the Communist MPs demanded holding hearings on the issue.

The Ministry of Defense in a communiqué also says that the relevant reports are untrue. The airspace is minored non-stop, in real time, with radiolocation means of the Ministry of Defense and the Civic Aeronautic Authority. The competent authorities of the neighboring states also didn’t inform about unauthorized flights.

In spring, about 1,100 civil planes enter Moldova’s airspace weekly. Most of them fly above Chisinau municipality, at a height of 12,000 meters, and can be seen following the condensation tracks they leave.
