The members of the band SunStroke Project, which represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 and ranked third, will receive state awards. The announcement was made by President Igor Dodon, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon wrote on Facebook that the band had an excellent performance, generated unforgettable emotions and filled Moldovans’ hearts with joy and pride. “You occupied the highest position at this contest in the Republic of Moldova‘s participation history. For us, you are the winners. We are waiting for you home to confer state awards on you,” wrote the President.
SunStroke Project has achieved the best result for Moldova during the 12-year history of participation in the Eurovision Song Contest with 374 points. In 2005, Moldova’s Zdob si Zdub finished sixth.
