The Party “Patria” (“Motherland”) will support the Socialists’ initiative to annul the Association Agreement with the European Union in the future Parliament, the leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said in the program “Fourth power” on N 4 TV channel, IPN reports.

Dodon said he held negotiations with heavyweights who were included in the list of candidates for MP of the Party “Patria” and reached an agreement with them concerning the annulment of the Association Agreement. He expressed his conviction that they will form a coalition with this party in the future Parliament.

Igor Dodon also said that they are ready to also form a collation with the Party of Communists (PCRM). “I hope the PCRM will make the correct choice and will not form a coalition with the unionist oligarchs. If it does so, it will become a political dead body whose grave will be covered with oak tree branches and roses of the Democrats,” he stated.

Asked about the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin’s accusations regarding the too high purchase price of Russian gas, Dodon noted that the Communist leader suffers from amnesia because of his old age. “First of all, the contract with “Gazprom” was signed not by me, but by “Moldova –Gaz”. Secondly, it was an advantageous contract, reason for which the pro-European government used it further. It’s a pity that the former head of state forgot how he made statements for journalists and congratulated the people on the signing of an advantageous contract for the purchase of natural gas,” he said.

In the same program, the leader of the PSRM denied the reports that they plan to stage protests after the November 30 legislative elections and described them as ‘hysteria of the ruling parties’.
