The Party of Socialists (PSRM) will not establish partnerships with the pro-European parties, the party’s chairman Igor Dodon reiterated in a news conference on December 1. He stated that they are ready to form a coalition only with the Party of Communists (PCRM), if this party supports the annulment of the Association Agreement with the EU, IPN reports.
“In the first sittings of Parliament, the Socialists will put forward three sets of questions. The first refers to the denouncing of the Association Agreement with the European Union and the holding of a national referendum on joining the Customs Union. The second set applies to the economic problems faced by the country, especially the farmers who cannot export their products, and to the situation in the banking sector. The third sets concerns the social problems. We will insist that the pensions should be raised by 20%,” said the leader of the PSRM.
“Dear people, I want to assure you that we, the Socialists, no matter where we are - in power or in the opposition – will do our utmost to fulfill these commitments and will not disappoint you. In the previous legislature, there were only three Socialists and we solved a lot of problems. Now we are practically ten times more. If we are in the opposition, you, the Euro-Unionists, will see what opposition you will have as you rigged the elections.”
According to the Central Election Commission, with 89% of the records of the electoral bureaus being processed, the PSRM polled 21.34% of the vote, the PLDM – 19.46%, the PCRM – 17.95%, the PDM – 15.78%, while the PL – 9.36%. Thus, the PSRM would get 25 seats of MP, the PLDM – 24, the PCRM – 21, the PDM – 19, while the PL – 12.
