The Border Police and the Customs Service will work based on an intensive work regime between April 2 and the end of this month so as to prevent the formation of queues at border crossing points and to reduce the waiting time during the Easter holidays, IPN reports.
According to the Border Police, special customs control and portable document reading equipment will be used and the number of mobile teams involved in the supervision of the state border and the national roads will be increased.
During the Easter holidays, local checkpoints will be set up on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border to facilitate the crossing of the frontier by Moldovans and Ukrainians living in administrative border districts, based on internal passports (identity cards) or on passports for travelling outside the country.
Those who have questions concerning the crossing of the state border can call the Green Line 022 259 717. The citizens who travel visa-free in Europe are urged to take into account the conditions for entering the EU/Schengen area, which can be found on the official website of the Border Police (border.gov.md). In the online traffic division, one can find out the number of units of transport at border crossing points at a certain moment.
