International ethno-jazz festival at its eighth edition
The eight international ethno-jazz music festival will take place at Mihai Eminescu National Theater in Chisinau and in Tiraspol between September 24 and 27. The festival is organized by the band Trigon. It brings together well-known singers and new talents and is also a charity program, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the manager of the festival Natalia Stefanet, various bands from abroad will perform on different days. “Trigon, together with The Shin from Georgia and Djabe from Hungary, will open the festival. Bands from Austria, Poland, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, the U.S. and Brazil have been invited to perform during the next three days,” Natalia Stefanet said. In Tiraspol, concerts involving Spanish and Russian groups will be held on September 25 and 27, organized with the support of the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
The money collected from sponsors and the sale of tickets is used to make donations. In 2005, equipment was donated to the newborns division of the Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Chisinau. In 2006, the boarding schools from Chisinau and Socii Noi village of Falesti district were offered by a set of drums, a piano and an accordion. From 2007, the festival has provided financial support to the Association of Stage Veterans and the Club of Veteran Musicians “Maestro”.
