International Women's Club announces traditional Winter Charity Bazaar

Traditional dishes, candies, clothes and objects or art will be on display on December 4 at the Winter Charity Bazaar, staged annually by the International Women's Club of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. As last year, the Bazaar will take place at Moldexpo. Co-president of the Club and the U.S. Ambassador's wife Charla Chaudhry told a news conference on Tuesday that the charity event is aimed at helping the women, children and elderly persons in Moldova. Kate Shannon, the wife of the British Ambassador in Chisinau, who is also the co-president of the Club, said the money collected at the Bazaar will be used to support the Children's Physiopneumology Rehabilitation Center “Tarnova”, renovate the toilets of the Paediatrics Section of the Soldanesti Hospital and to buy equipment for the playgrounds of a social assistance center in Olanesti village. A part of the money will be given for a project implemented by the NGO “Compasiune” (“Compassion”), which aims to professionally train young people with the participation of adults from Costesti, Ialoveni. The objects that will be exhibited at the Bazaar have been collected from national and foreign donors. The event will include a draw whose winners will be able to go on trips to Turkey, Romania and several other European countries. This is the 14th Charity Bazaar. Funds of US$153,000 have been raised during the staged events. The proceeds go to support social institutions. The International Women's Club includes wives of ambassadors and representatives of embassies working in Moldova.
