The investigators will be able to take investigation actions during the state of emergency if these do not necessitate the direct involvement of the parties or other persons taking part in the criminal proceedings. Under the April 29 decision by the Commission for Exceptional Situations, the criminal investigation is permitted also in other cases than those mentioned in point 10 of the annex to Order No. 1 of March 18, 2020, IPN reports.
These cases include situations when it is ordered or proposed taking preventive measures or measurers to protect the victims and witnesses, temporary medical safety measures, measures in relation to injured parties that are minors, and also criminal investigation actions whose delay can endanger the collection of evidence or the catching of the suspect or offender and other urgent cases classed as such by the prosecutor in charge of the case.
