Ion Luchianov qualifies for 3k steeplechase final at European Championships
Ion Luchianov has qualified today for the 3,000m steeplechase final at the European Athletics Championships, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Among the 24 runners, Luchianov showed the second-best time, 8 minutes 29'49'', being outperformed only by France's Mahiedine Mekhisi-Benabbad.
The final will take place on Sunday, August 1.
Another Moldovan athlete, Oxana Juravel will run in the women's corresponding final this evening.
Moldova's medal hopes are also attached to sisters Zalina and Marina Marghiev, who qualified for the hammer throw final.
The European Athletics Championships in Barcelona will end on Sunday, August 1.
