A nationwide project with Japanese assistance will be launched in Moldova to create an irrigation system that will work based on solar and wind energy, IPN reports.
According to Constantin Rotaru, communication adviser to the agriculture minister, details about the launch of the project were discussed in a meeting with the new Director General of the Europe Department of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Yamanaka Shinichi.
It was announced that the joint Moldovan – Japanese project 2KR, which had been implemented during 15 years, was completed. Constantin Rotaru said that this project was the longest one in the agricultural sector. From now on it will work independently and will be supported with budgetary resources.
The initial agreement with Japan envisioned that the 2KR project will be supported until it can exist independently.
