The number of people out of work in Moldova has increased. In the second quarter of this year, the figure stood at 60,800, up 3,200 compared with the corresponding period last year, IPN reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, men represented 60.9% of the jobless people. The unemployment rate in urban areas was almost twice higher than in rural areas. More than 61% of the unemployed were from towns.
The number of persons holding a job rose by 1.5% in the period. Of the 1.2 million working people, 44.2% were from urban areas, while the rest from rural areas.
