The Republic of Moldova has established Judge’s Day, which will be celebrated on July 20. A decision in this regard was approved today by the Superior Council of Magistracy, IPN reports.
According to the CSM, Judge’s Day will be a professional day dedicated to recognizing the essential role that judges play in ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law.
“This initiative reflects appreciation for the professionalism, impartiality, and responsibility with which judges carry out their duties, contributing to strengthening public trust in the justice system”, the institution stated.
Judge’s Day will be marked annually with events and activities aimed at highlighting the importance of judicial independence, professional ethics, and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms.
The date July 20 was chosen because, on this day in 1995, the law on the status of judges was adopted.
