Owners of agricultural land will be excluded from the categories of payers of mandatory health insurance premiums in a fixed amount, who insure themselves individually. A draft law to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.
“Owners of agricultural land, except for gardens and vegetable plots, regardless of whether or not they leased this land out or used it on a contract basis, who concurrently belong to categories of unemployed persons insured by the Government or prove that they have stayed abroad for more than 183 calendar days during the budget year, will not pay the mandatory health insurance premium in a fixed amount,” said Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco.
The official provided clarification about the notification letters that were already received by some of the citizens who abroad. “I would like to inform all those who live outside the country and received notification letters to pay their insurance premium that we will issue a letter of explanation to everyone. It was a confusion as the insurance system owned by the National Health Insurance Company is connected to other state registers, but there is no data showing whether the people are in the country or outside the country. That’s why everyone received notifications,” explained the minister.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law to amend a series of normative documents on the inclusion in the mandatory health insurance system of employed beneficiaries of temporary protection. The approved document allows granting the status of insured person to employed beneficiaries of temporary protection with the same rights and obligations in the mandatory health insurance system as the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
