Large billboards in Chisinau could be set up only in places that do not hamper road traffic and do not affect he image of the city. Deputy mayor of Chisinau Victor Chironda said there are too many street advertisements placed chaotically in the city. This runs counter to the norms and seriously affects the city’s appearance, IPN reports.
In the ordinary meeting of municipal services, Victor Chironda said that together with representatives of advertising companies that provide assistance in this process, they will agree the method by which the billboards will be relocated. “Many people are dissatisfied with the fact that the billboards are removed, but I want to note that we will be now taking away the billboards where the sidewalks, streets and public places will be repaired or renovated and from near or from bridges, as technical experts suggested, given that the boards affect the integrity of these engineering constructions,” stated the deputy mayor.
He noted that in other parts of the city, only the billboards whose authorization expired or that were placed with violations of the regulations and norms or that are not cared for by business entities are being taken away.
