The Balti Clinical Hospital’s Anesthesia and Intensive Care Department has opened after renovation. The Ministry of Health says this fact makes the Hospital a regional point of reference, boasting the largest intensive care department in the northern part of the country.
Furnished with state-of-the-art equipment, the modernized 20-bed ward can provide highly qualified medical assistance to patients in critical condition, with multiple traumas or with cardiovascular and neurological emergencies.
The extensive renovation of the department was carried out under the World Bank-funded “Emergency response to COVID-19” Project, managed by the Ministry of Health, and had a cost of about 29 million lei.
Overall, the project helped to repair 11 intensive care units at strategic medical institutions across the country, at a total cost of 187.2 million lei.
