The last two stories of the Uzinelor St storehouse that was destroyed by fire will be demolished. Such a decision was taken by a group of building experts set up by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, IPN reports.
“The technical state of the load bearing walls on the fourth story and partially on the fifth floor is unsatisfactory as these are seriously damaged and can collapse,” Deputy Minister Anatolie Zolotcov said after the building was examined at the preliminary stage.
According to him, the transversal panels from the building’s façade shifted and must be immediately taken down so as to avoid their collapse on the roadway. The technical state of the whole building cannot be now determined as the floors affected by fire can fall down.
Members of the working group said the final examination report will be presented by the end of November. Afterward, the owners of the building will choose a licensed company to design the project documentation for demolishing the two stories and removing the external panels. These will also fence the area soon.
