Latvia to support Moldova in promoting regional development
Latvia will support Moldova in promoting regional development by providing assistance in obtaining and using European and foreign funds in the field of environmental protection and infrastructure, climate policy, regional development, and territorial cooperation.
The Ministry of Regional Development and Constructions announced that Latvian experts would exchange experience with Moldovan specialists in cross-border cooperation within the EU Neighborhood Policies and the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI), Info-Prim Neo reports.
Today, June 28, Minister Marcel Raducan and his Latvian counterpart Edmunds Sprudzs signed an agreement establishing the priorities and goals of cooperation between Moldova and Latvia in the field of regional development. The two sides will promote and support the development of reciprocal partnership relations in order to intensify cooperation between development regions.
After the signing ceremony, the two discussed about Latvia’s experience in cross-border cooperation and coordination of financing policy, about the administrative-territorial reform, the Latvian support for the updating of Moldova’s Northern Region Regional Development Strategy and Latvia’s experience in the field of energetic efficiency.
The Latvian Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development is on an official visit in Moldova between 27 and 29 June in reply to an invitation by Marcel Raducan.
