Laureates of “N. Sulac” contest may be deprived of title if they damage artist’s image
The laureates of the singing contest “Nicolae Sulac” can remain without title if they damage the artist’s image, the organizers of the contest-festival announced in a news conference, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We will try to identify a method of intervening when the singers wouldn’t decently promote the national values because we already have a precedent and must analyze the legal side. We should deprive the laureates who profane the folk music and the image of Nicolae Sulac and this festival of the title,” said one of the organizers Oleg Volontir, director of the National Center for Conservation and Promotion of the Immaterial Cultural Patrimony.
The jury’s head, Master Nicolae Botgros said they can intervene not only by legal ways. “If we cannot do it legally, we can do it morally. If we behave in a diplomatic way, the singer would continue to sing nonsense. But if we hit him where we should, it would be much better,” he stated, adding the jury gives the title and should have the right to withdraw it.
The fourth contest-festival will take place in December.
