A lawyer and his female partner were accused of staging the bomb hoax at the Court of Chisinau. The Buiucani local office of the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office said the two were charged with the April 10 hoax, IPN reports.

A person phoned then and informed that the Centru office of the Court of Chisinau was mined. Immediately, the persons who were in the building of the Court were evacuated and the activity of the institution was disrupted. After several hours of searches, the bomb squad found no explosive device in the building. A criminal case was started over intentional misinforming of an act of terrorism.

The authors of the bomb hoax turned out to be a lawyer from Chisinau and his female partner. The two were arrested and admitted their guilt. They said they drank alcoholic beverages together and then decided to find a method to put off the hearing where the lawyer was to be present. They threw the used SIM card into a lake.

The culprits face a fine of up to 42,500 lei or 180 to 240 hours of community service, or up to two years in jail.
