Officers of the Anticorruption Center arrested a 60-year-old lawyer on suspicion of traffic of influence. The arrest was made near a shopping center in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Center. The lawyer is suspected of asking €5,000 from a person for influencing judges of the Supreme Court of Justice to take a favorable decision in a civil case. Before reporting the case to the Anticorruption Center, the given person gave the lawyer €2,000 and was to transmit the rest of the money under the control of officers. The lawyer was arrested after he took €4,000 of the €5,000. He is now in the remand unit of the Anticorruption Center. He is the sixth lawyer suspected of corruption.
