Lifting export quotas and regional security discussed by President Sandu and Poland's Prime Minister

The elimination of export quotas for certain agricultural products and the complete abolition of roaming charges between Moldova and the EU were among the topics discussed during a phone call between Moldova's President Maia Sandu and Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk, ahead of Poland assuming the presidency of the Council of the European Union, IPN reports.

The two leaders also addressed Poland's support for Moldova's development and matters of regional security. "Poland remains a reliable partner for Moldova on its European path and in strengthening regional stability", stated the presidential press release.

Another key topic was Moldova's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), described as "an important objective that facilitates financial transactions and supports the business environment".

Discussions further covered Moldova's priorities for accelerating its EU accession process, including the opening of negotiation chapter groups and advancing the disbursement of funds under the Growth Plan for Moldova.
