An exhibition of 133 works by plastic artist Liviu Hancu titled “Between Impression and Expression” was opened at the Exhibitions Center “Constantin Brancusi”. The paintings executed in a contemporary style, in colors ranging from dull to light, represent rural landscapes and static nature, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It is an exhibition of different stages of my life, an exhibit of a 50-year-old man who asks himself questions about the past and fundamental things. That's why this exhibition is titled “Between Impression and Expression”. The expression turns into impression, own thoughts and more evident and stronger emotions,” the artist said at the opening.
The exhibition is an expression of the temper and personal thoughts of different things as everything is treated more subjectively, the painter said. “I try to reveal not what is obvious, but what is fundamental, structural,” Liviu Hancu said.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism awarded a diploma of honor to the artist. “I'm delighted by the talent and work of Liviu Hancu. I am fascinated by his works in which he puts soul and talent. The diploma is given in gratitude for the contribution towards promoting the national values,” said Nicolae Raileanu, the head of the Ministry's Patrimony and Tourist Resources Division.
Art critic Tudor Braga, the head of the Exhibitions Center “Constantin Brancusi”, said that Liviu Hancu has a great artistic talent and his works are original. “He is one of the greatest plastic artists in the contemporary artistic life in Moldova. He is also famous for the large number of works he exhibited in national museums. He exploits the value of the colors, which organize the internal pattern of the image,” the critic said.
What Liviu Hancu does is a kind of heroism, especially because he sets goals related to the arts, not to trade, said Ghenadie Jalba, the president of the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova.
The exhibit was staged by the Union of Plastic Artists. It will be open until September 22.
