Hidden crimes were identified at the local police departments, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting Minister of the Interior Victor Catan. During the first 100 days of work, the new administration of the Ministry of the Interior discovered concealed crimes practically in all the police commissariats. The inspections revealed that the rural police departments hid most of the crimes. “While under the previous government, the commissariats concealed offenses in order to hide the real situation in districts. When the offenders were not identified from the start, the crimes were not discovered by fresh tracks and the materials were not recorded,” Victor Catan said during a news conference on January 12. The minister also said the persons that hushed up crimes and evidence will be held responsible. There were launched 275 internal inquiries, 56 of which against commissioners and deputy commissioners.
