The second round of the new local elections in Târnova commune of Dondușeni district and in Bucovăț town of Strășeni district was set for June 2. The Central Election Commission said that the two candidates on the ballot will be written in descending order of the number of valid votes obtained in the first round of voting, IPN reports.

Vladimir Gîsca, of the Party of Socialists, and Ruslan Filipaș, of the Political Party “Chance”, will contend in the runoffs in Târnova. Nicolae Lozovan, of the Party of Action and Solidarity, and Irina Maximova, of the European Social Democratic Party, will compete for the position of mayor in Bucovăț.

The runoff vote will be held with the electoral lists used in the first round that took place on May 19.
