Maib has launched an innovative solution for the bank’s clients, called SmartPOS, which enables businesses to accept card payments on smartphones or tablets without the need of a separate card terminal.

The High-performance maib SmartPOS technology turns any phone or tablet running on Android 8.0+ with NFC features into contactless payment terminals, without any additional equipment. Companies have the opportunity to sell more easily, while buyers to pay with maximum flexibility and safety.

Maib SmartPOS is a suitable alternative to classic POS terminals, especially for businesses that require mobility and flexibility, such as notaries, courier services, hairdressers, small manufacturers, or plumbers, for example.

After contracting the service at one of the maib branches, all a client has to do is download the application for free and receive instant payments from customers.

SmartPOS transactions are secure, with the switching process similar to traditional card readers, and are protected by the same security as chip cards.

The solution is being implemented in partnership with the digital payments giant VISA and IBA Group, one of the largest technology developers in Central and Eastern Europe.
