The major coalition will not allow deviations from the agenda of the September 30 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) set to start at 16.00, the AMN councilor Oleg Cernei stated for Info-Prim Neo. The councilors are to approve the regulations on the payment of compensations following the rise in water charges and bus and trolleybus fares. Councilor Oleg Onishchenko, who voted in favor of increasing the water and sewerage charges, not yet the bus and trolleybus fares, has told Info-Prim Neo's reporter that he will demand that the given decision be annulled or that larger compensations be paid. According to him, the reforms should not affect the poor. Though the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca told a news conference that the regulations were drafted before September 25, Onishchenko said that he did not see the document and does not yet know whether he will vote in favor of it or against. Oleg Cernei, councilor of the faction of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), said that no other issues except those included in the agenda will be discussed at Wednesday's meeting. According to him, any proposal will be put to the vote, but the representatives of the major coalition decided Tuesday to oppose the modification of the agenda. The faction of the Communists Party issued Tuesday a communique, saying they demand that the decision to increase the bus and trolleybus fares be annulled and that the pensioners, invalids and students be allowed to travel free of charge. The faction considers that the municipal services are in a difficult situation owing to a poor management and an irresponsible attitude. Representatives of the Union of Communist Youth of Moldova also expressed their disagreement with the rise in tariffs. They called on the civil society, the youth and student organizations, the trade unions and representatives of the youth organizations of the Liberal-Democratic parties to take attitude and initiate a dialogue with the Chisinau councilors so as to overcome the created situation and identify acceptable solutions.
