Mamaliga's case sent to court

The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office has sent to court the case of Ion Mamaliga, the president of the Private Carriers Association, who is charged with bribery, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office recalled in a press release that criminal proceedings against Mamaliga were started in May 2012 after he allegedly demanded and received 300 euros in bribe from the owner of a minibus in exchange for the permission to leave that minibus further work on a municipal route. Mamaliga was caught in the act with the bribe in his office. He told Info-Prim Neo then that it was “a total frame-up” and he would prove it. Mamaliga will be tried at the Buiucani District Court.
