A Moldovan man and woman were on the bus with about 60 tourists that overturned into a precipice on the Siena-Florence highway in the morning of May 22.
The information was confirmed for IPN by Alexandru Roitman, of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Only one of the two persons was injured slightly and received medical care without being hospitalized. Moldova’s Embassy in Rome had been permanently in contact with the Moldovans and their relatives.
According to the local press, a woman was killed in the accident and another 37 passengers were hurt. The bus driver was arrested. Among the passengers were tourists from Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.
