Man arrested for favoring obtaining of Schengen visas
The manager of an agency that found employment for people abroad is investigated for traffic of influence. He favored the obtaining of Schengen work visas, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, the man asked for €1,300 from a young man, who was banned from leaving Moldova, for helping him get a Schengen visa, saying he has influence on employees of the Polish Embassy in Chisinau.
The official costs for a visa are actually €60 the consular tax and 500 lei the health insurance.
The manager was caught red-handed on March 22. In his wallet, there was found €1,100. The other €200 was transmitted earlier during a specially planned operation. The man was put under arrest for 72 hours. A legal case over traffic of influence was opened against him.
