A man from Balti was caught in the act of bribing a police officer. He offered him 50,000 lei for not drawing up a report against him, Info-Prim Neo reports. The man was arrested when he wanted to give the first tranche of 10,000 lei to the policeman.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of the Interior, the police found about 2 tonnes of ethyl alcohol without documents of origin in the man’s house. Supposedly, the alcohol was counterfeit. For not being held accountable, the man offered 50,000 lei to the police officer who is examining this case. The police officer informed his colleagues and the man was caught red-handed in the policeman’s office.
The 30-year-old suspect is investigated for corruption and faces up to 12 years in jail.
