A 53-year-old man was killed in a fire caused by a smoldering cigarette in Chirca village of Anenii Noi district, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the on-the-spot investigations showed the man fell asleep with the cigarette burning. The bedclothes caught fire from it. Another fire happened in the basement of an apartment building situated on Calarasi St in Chisinau on the afternoon of December 3. The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, but the person who was in the basement at that moment suffered first-, second-, and third-degree burns and was hospitalized. The circumstances and cause of fire are to be determined.
