A man aged 50 from Chisinau died when he fell into an elevator shaft from the seventh floor of a building. The man called the elevator and stepped in when the door opened, without seeing that the machine did not arrive. It was later established that the elevator broke and was stopped at the eighth floor for repair. Petru Cravet, spokesman for the National Emergency Medicine Center, has told Info-Prim Neo that the incident happened on Alba-Iulia St in Buiucani district on August 17. The man died as a result of his injuries. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the main PR specialist of the General Police Commissariat Ghenadie Cuciuc said they are to establish if the security procedures were observed and if there were notices that the elevator wasn’t working in the building.
