A man held on remand in Penitentiary no.13 in Chisinau was found dead by cellmates this morning, hanging by a rope in the cell's latrine. There were no signs of violent death on the man's body, indicating that it was most likely suicide. The man was held on remand on charges of premeditated murder. A spokesperson for the Penitentiary Department has told Info-Prim Neo that the man was present at the 8:00AM roll call and an hour later his cellmates announced that he had hanged himself in the latrine, using a makeshift rope. The man, 58, was from Chisinau. He was charged with murdering his girlfriend.
