A man aged 20 from Bulboaca village of Anenii Noi district was arrested by the police on suspicion that he killed his 78-year-old grandmother in order to rob her, IPN has learned from the General Police Inspectorate.

The police were alerted by a female neighbor of the victim, who said that she knows the man who committed the crime and that this intended to run away. The individual was put on the wanted list and was identified in a taxi in Chetrosu village of the same district shortly afterward. The suspect was inebriated, had his clothes full of spots looking like blood and had his hands scratched. The money stolen from the victim was found on him.

The young man was put under arrest for 72 hours. He is held at the Anenii Noi Police Inspectorate. If he is found guilty of deliberate murder, he will serve 15 to 20 years in jail or life.
