A man from Hancesti town was charged with beating to death a two-year-old boy who was left in his care. The investigation into this case was completed and the criminal case was sent to court. The 37-year-old defendant was earlier convicted of theft, IPN reports.

The incident happened in the man’s house in June. The police established that the boy’s mother wasn’t at home when her partner beat the child, breaking several of his ribs. Several days later, he beat the boy again. This time the child suffered skull fractures. At the end of June, the man kicked and punched the boy. The child died several hours later, before the ambulance arrived.

Being questioned by the police, the aggressor didn’t accept the blame. He said only that he was bothered by the child’s crying. If it’s proven that he intentionally hit the boy, he will serve up to 15 years behind bars.
