A man aged 60 from Lărguța village of Cantemir district died after he fell from a height of about 9 meters. Cristina Ciobanu, press officer of the Cantemir Police Inspectorate, has told IPN that the man worked as maintenance chief at the local secondary school and was repairing the roof of the gymnasium when he lost his balance and fell down. He died before an ambulance arrived. A medial legal examination is to be performed.

The case is examined by the Cimișlia Local Labor Inspectorate. Gheorghe Durlescu, inspector in charge of this case, could not give details, saying he will provide official information after the investigation is completed.

Representatives of the administration of the secondary school where the accident occurred said they are busy and cannot talk.

The State Labor Inspectorate in 2021 was informed about 617 work accidents that resulted in 77 deaths and 577 persons injured.
