Man gets 15 years for attempt to murder future parents-in-law

A man was sentenced to 15 years in jail because he intended to get married and kill his future parents-in-law, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to prosecutors, in the summer of 2006 the man, wanting to appropriate the property of a family, made the acquaintance of their daughter and proposed to her even if he was already married and had a minor child. Finding out that the daughter’s parents intended to go to a sanatorium in Ukraine for treatment, the convict convinced his brother to commit the crime. He gave him money, explosives and told him the make and license number of the victims’ car. The man’s brother went to Ukraine, where he rented an apartment. A blast happened when he was preparing the explosive device and he died on the spot. The prosecutors demanded a jail term of 25 years for the organizer of the murder and will thus appeal the decision to a higher court, the Prosecutor General’s Office has said.
