A man was sentenced to 15 years in jail for committing a number of offenses, including the killing of a woman by hitting her with a car and an intentional murder, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, three years ago in June the man struck with his car a 72-year-ol woman who was sweeping on Mihail Kogalniceanu St in Chisinau. He then got onto another car parked nearby. The woman didn’t survive. The culprit didn’t admit his guilt, saying another person was driving the car.

In three months of the commission of the accident, being under the influence of drugs on the bank of the Nistru River, he beat to death his friend with who he got into a conflict.

Besides the jail term, the man was also banned from driving for a period of four years.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
