MAN reports attempt to dispossess Colonita village of five-hectare plot

Members of the National Alternative Movement (MAN) warn of an attempt to dispossess the village of Colonita in Chisinau municipality of a five-hectare plot. According to them, such a move will cause damage of 35 million lei to the local authorities, IPN reports.

The Colonita mayor’s office is obliged, in 2024, to sell five hectares of land at a price of 2009, when the lot cost 3 million lei. According to current market prices, the price is 35 million lei.

MAN mayor of Colonita, Angela Zaporojan, presented details in a press conference. In 2010, the local council decided to sell a plot of land at a valuation price of 2009. The agreed price was to be paid during a month. After three years, the price was not paid and the local council repealed this decision. Subsequently, the decision was challenged and the court decided that the land, however, must be sold to these people.

The local authorities made a feasibility study after which it was established that it is a plot of 1.8 ha, not five hectares, as initially established.

Based on a Government decision, a revaluation of the land was carried out for it to be sold at the market price and, again, the court formed by the same panel of judges decided that the land should be sold at the price set in 2010.

Now the case is being examined at the Supreme Court of Justice. The law says that the sale and purchase contract can be signed only after the actual payment of the amount, at the market price, while the courts say that in 2024 this land must be sold at the price set in 2010.
