A man aged 55 was rushed to the hospital in a serious state following a gas cylinder exposition that occurred in Ocnița village of Ocnița district. The man suffered multiple burns and was admitted to the district hospital, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the blast destroyed half of the man’s house, but caused no fire. The man was found by rescuers. The cause and circumstances of the explosion are yet to be found out.
The mayor of the village Victor Manoil has told IPN that the locality is partially connected to the gas supply system. The house where the explosion happened on March 17 wasn’t connected to the centralized system and the family used a gas cylinder. The man is divorced and lives with his mother who is confined to bed. The woman wasn’t hurt as she was in the house situated nearby. The local authorities are ready to offer assistance to the family, if necessary.
The General Inspectorate for Emergencies calls on the people to be attentive when using natural gas supply sources and to obey the fire prevention rules.
