A man was shot dead at a terrace in the center of Chisinau on the afternoon of September 19. Adrian Jovmir, press officer of the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that the victim was about 40. The man was at the terrace of a café located on 31 august St, near the National Library, together with two men. At a certain moment, one of them took out a gun and fired on the victim. Afterward, the two men got onto a car and left the place. The police were alerted by the café’s administration. No other details are yet known. The case is being investigated. [Update] Olga Baciu, head of the Ministry of the Interior’s press office, said the killed man is a former police officer. The police arrested one of the suspects who is being questioned. She provided no other details, invoking the secrecy of the investigation.
