A man stabbed himself in the abdomen in the presence of his mother after having a quarrel with her. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the incident happened at about 8pm on June 8 in an apartment on Dimo St. After quarreling with his mother, the inebriated 41-year-old man stabbed himself in the abdomen with a kitchen knife. The man suffered a hemorrhagic shock of the first degree and was rushed to the Emergency Hospital. A builder, 39, fell off the scaffolding, from a height of about three meters, on a building site on Moara Rosie St. The man was taken to the Emergency Hospital with a concussion, a thoracic trauma, contusion of the internal organs and a fracture of the clavicle. After sitting in the sun for about eight hours with the uncovered head, a fisherman aged 34 suffered a sunstroke. This is the first case of sunstroke reported this summer. During the last 24 hours, the Chisinau Ambulance Service responded to 758 calls, dealing with 65 cases of trauma, 83 cases of acute viral infection, six strokes and 16 deliveries.
