Marian Lupu: There are two reasons why President hasn't been elected yet

Democrat leader Marian Lupu says there are two major reasons why the President of Moldova has not been elected yet: several missing votes, and the competition inside the Alliance. “The bitter competition among the Moldovan political class and in particular among parties often exceeds acceptable limits. The Democratic Party has always been a party of compromise, a party that has advocated intelligent solutions. We've been attacked from one side, by extra-parliamentary parties, and we've been attacked from the other side, but this is normal. What is abnormal is the situation when you are attacked from behind by those who you think are your allies”, said Marian Lupu at a Saturday event held by the Democratic Party. “This creates nothing but disillusion in society and has started to distract attention from our work and efforts”, added Lupu. He further reiterated his announcement about intending to formally register his presidential candidacy early next week, in time for the election slated for December 16.
