Acting President Marian Lupu said in a televised program that he does not feel the sincerity of his colleagues from the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) as regards his candidacy for the post of head of state, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”The only thing that counts is that those who do not support my candidacy for presidency should openly tell this, but nobody dares to say this in the meetings of the AEI Council. I’m open for discussions. I’m flexible and practical,” said Marian Lupu. He also said that the decision to put forward his candidacy for the post of President of Moldova was taken by all his colleagues from the AEI. Thus, he does not suffer from narcissism, does not overestimate himself, but also does not underestimate himself. The deputy chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova Valeriu Strelet said earlier that the party will demand reviewing the alliance constitution agreement in certain conditions and will suggest abandoning personalizing certain posts, not only that of head of state. It is not excluded that if the parliamentary opposition is ready to vote for another candidate than Marian Lupu, not necessarily an apolitical person, the Liberal-Democrats will propose discussing another candidature.
