Martsishor Day celebrated by Moldovans abroad
The Moldovan Representative Office to the United Nations Office in Geneva held at the Palace of Nations a soirée dedicated to Martsishor, a traditional holiday in Moldova and Romania celebrating the coming of spring. A photo exhibition devoted to Moldova accompanied the event.
Manifestations organized by the Moldovan communities abroad to celebrate Martsishor were also held in Iatly, Portugal, and Armenia, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Moldovan MFA.
In Italy, Martsishor was celebrated at the Moldovan General Consulate in Bologna, a zone which is home to many Moldovans. In Mestre, the Moldovans representing the association Dacia presented a poetry and folksong event. In the course of March, similar events will be held in the cities of serate similare urmează a avea loc şi în oraşele Padova, Bologna, Trento. The Martishor was also celebrated in Armenia, at the Moldovan Embassy as well as in schools in the Armenian capital, Baku.
The Moldovan Embassy in Portugal, in concert with the Moldovan Cultural Center, organized a festive evening featuring a band from the Chisinau-based Philharmonic Hall.
