Then National House of Social Insurances (CNAS) said a sum of 62.9 million lei was transferred for paying maternity benefit to insured women and wives maintained by insured husbands. The money can be collected from banks, through cards, or from post offices, IPN reports.

The maternity benefit is paid fully starting from the 30th week of pregnancy for a period of 126 calendar days. In case of difficult delivery or giving birth to twins, it is paid for 140 calendar days. In case of pregnancy with three and more fetuses, the maternity benefit is paid starting from the 24th week for a period of 182 calendar days.
