Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca wants scale models of future buildings to be published mandatorily on the Municipality’s webpage, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Mayor stated during the City Hall meeting on October 22 that too often the height of new buildings erected at intersections was much above the height of nearby buildings, which wasn’t architecturally harmonious. Dorin Chirtoaca said that future constructions must be better integrated in the General Urban Planning, and this would require the models of buildings to be available online. “We must ensure the development is harmonious because we often notice the problem post factum, after the buildings are erected”, he said. Nistor Grozavu, the Deputy Mayor in charge of constructions, is skeptical about the initiative. The building layout is usually displayed on the fence surrounding the construction site, but rarely any of the dwellers from nearby blocks submitted any complaint, he explained.
