The Government approved minimum security requirements concerning the exploitation of natural gas distribution systems in a move to safeguards the public interests, health and safety at the workplace and to protect the environment, IPN reports.

The document specifies all the measures that should be taken starting with the designing of a natural combustible gas supply system and ending with the method of exploiting the system.

“The set norms will contribute to preventing gas-related incidents and accidents as the number of these has increased during the last few years, including owing to the improper exploitation and non-monitoring of the technical state of individual liquefied gas cylinders,” said Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmac, Minister of Economy.
